The Ram

A mascot is a symbol that denotes identity and pride in a school community. The George Washington Carver High School Mascot is a Ram!  The ram’s symbolism dates back to ancient societies. Across many cultures, the ram signifies determination, action, initiative, and leadership. This mascot was adopted in the fall of 1958 when the school was founded. We invite alums from generations home to our campus in the Desire neighborhood. We celebrate the long standing legacy of the Carver Rams in the city of New Orleans.
